Heading to town again, arriving on Xmas eve and will be there for Day and day after. Going to be staying at NYNY, first time there and continuing with my theme of staying at a different resort every time in Vegas. I've been gravitating toward NYNY the last couple times in town, it always seems to have a great atmosphere and I love the Sporting House bar on site. Mandalay was nice enough but the place is pretty bereft of excitement, the casino is kind of dead and boring. NYNY's always seems packed and full of people having a good time, though I've never won any money there. It also seems more aimed at singles for some reason, or maybe that's just a perception as it has a lot of bars I can hang out in.
Not really sure what to expect of Xmas in Vegas...I've read that the place will be packed or that it will be empty. No conventions obviously, so maybe the people there on the Strip will mainly be locals. Have read a lot of Asian tourists come over at that time since they don't celebrate Xmas (not that I do either). Would imagine it'll be a lot of singles or couples, too, as you wouldn't expect a lot of families would do Vegas for the holiday. We'll see. Weather will be cool, 50's day 30's night, so warm clothes in play. Not so much female skin on display, unfortunately.
I will be fine money wise as I'm turning $1300 directly around from the last trip (thank you Keno!) into this one so only will have to save $2K between now and Xmas. No problem. Should have some sort of Xmas bonus from work in play too so I might have a shit ton of money to waste this time. Hookers and blow!
Just a short buildup this time, 50 day or so away, no long agonizing wait like last time. Kinda feels like this one could be epic, should be a cool vibe to a supposedly sinful city having to tone things down (or not?) for a "religious" family holiday. Looking forward to doing it up.
