T-Minus 1 Week.
1 week from the moment I write this post I will be on the ground in Vegas and probably already a couple drinks in at the first bar.
Nine Fine at NYNY, probably, as I will be heading there first to drop off my bag before starting the all-nighter bonus night. Going to try to avoid doing much gambling on night one so as not to cut into the funds too much on the first night of a 5-night trip. Just going to wander that first night, eat, drink, and soak in being back at the one place that feels like home for me. At least the one place I'd rather be more than anywhere else, (when I have cash to blow).
I'm sure I'll end up at the Cosmo Friday night; have a history of being able to spend a whole night going from 24-hour bar to 24-hour bar in there. Nothing like the Cosmopolitan on a weekend night, the vibe is like no other in Vegas, and Vegas is a town that is not hurting for vibes.
I've been trying to contact casino hosts to set up an early check-in Saturday so I can get some sleep before NIN/Soundgarden. Would love to get into a room and settled by noon, and hopefully the room will be quiet once I get in it and I can squeeze in 6 hours. I'll definitely sleep most of Friday day away at home, so I should be acclimated pretty well to be able to go all night.
Today was day one of a 7-day work stretch before the 18th...1 down 6 to go. One good thing is the boss from my old job I'm transitioning out of that I dislike will be on vacation this whole coming week so it should be a pretty harmonious ride til I'm on a plane.
Gotta say I'm in a pretty good place right now in life in general, Vegas 3-4 times a year is just the icing on the cake, though it's a pretty important icing. I was in a pretty major rut in my sad little life here in SF until the Vegas bug tapped me. The trips give me something to break the rut and to look forward to.
Rut-buster coming up in one week.
