ONE WEEK OUT.

T-minus one week to trip #3 of 2018.

More or less all set for this one. The money is going to be a little less than normal for a 4 1/2 day trip for me but really only by about a hundy. $500 for the short first night, will take it easy there then will have an average of a few bucks less than $800/day for the 4 full days. Should be more than enough with the way I gamble now, which is minimal.

I may have to make a trek over to BoW to pull out the last $1K one day of the trip, as I may or may not be paid on the Friday before, it will depend on how the payroll rollout happens. I'll have enough to get through the first 3 days of the trip for sure and if I have to go to the bank I can do it before I cab to Palms on that Wednesday morning to make it a combo plate and save time.

I've more or less resolved to stop throwing money away on non-skill slots, and to try to grind out some positive numbers on video poker. I'm using a simple online trainer and have gotten pretty good at identifying "perfect strategy" when it comes to playing. The jackpots are smaller, but at least I should be able to sit there and actually play for more than 10 minutes before being robbed of my hundy. At least let me play for an hour before robbing me. I have no illusions of hitting tons of royals but maybe a 4OAK here and there can keep me even on gambling or maybe even *gasp* a little up on the trip? For once?

Other than that the plan is good as in the previous post, I have a couple "show" days sandwiched by a couple freedom days to balance things out. The total time of both shows is only 3 hours so it's not like I'm giving up much play time and hell, it'll be good to stay out of the bars for a couple hours of the day here and there. Weather if it holds looks good, hovering right around 100 degrees over the whole trip. Not a problem.

My playlist for this trip is done and loaded on the Pixel. No real theme this time, a couple Vegas songs, a couple songs about being lucky (or not being lucky), a few songs that worked well on my last trip and a couple songs I just fucking wanted to hear, damn it. Good 40-song mix.

Got an unexpected Amazon gift card from work, so I have a couple more summer shirts on the way, arriving before the trip. Not that it will matter how I look, as I have yet again failed to do any kind of weight reduction pre-trip, but hey at least I will feel better about how I look sartorially.

That's pretty much it. Not much else to do for this one but...go.

This is going to be a baller-ass vacation. Private planes, 1100 sq ft suites in a 5-star resort, steaks and high-end sashimi. We be living  good  on the 55th birthday trip. It all starts with flying semi-private on JSX in and out. Flown with them a couple times before, SO much less hassle than dealing with the fucking major airports. Private terminal, no TSA, no bag worries, big cushy seats, free drinks. Hopping on in OAK and will just UBER it to and from. So much more evolved than being basically violated by TSA in the normal airports.  Then on arrival in LAS it's in the taxi and over to Resorts World. I have added early check-in to standby, so hopefully I can just roll straight up to the room at 1:30p. It's the One Bedroom Suite at the Conrad, 1100 sq ft of lovely at the north end of the strip. No resort hopping this time, one room, one unpack, one relax.  Trying to think back, pretty sure this will be the biggest room I've ever had in Vegas, I think Encore or Dela...

A decent haul, y'all. -6 nights at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. $412 all in. Would be $1409 all in with the best website rate. Saved $997 over rack rate. -$30 Freeplay and $50 Resort Credit included in the deal. $80 value. -Roughly $160 in Freeplay from MGM by the time I get to town, $160 value. Total overhead saved = $1237. Not nearly an all timer but not bad for a holiday week trip. Would have been $700 more had I stayed at Fontainebleau as originally planned so a bit of frugality after the baller April trip.  1 month.

Got a nice little Resort Credit bump today, from an old job.  While I was with Kit/Ro in late '22 to early '23 I racked up some Marriot points while I was flirting with the move to Phoenix. Now that Marriot and MGM are bumping uglies, I was able to convert those (otherwise useless) points into MGM Rewards points. It turned into about $190 in credit, which, thanks old job! That means with what I already had earned, I will have over $230 available for the Xmas trip. Hello, Xmas dinner on Marriot, and one other dinner too. That's on top of the $50 I will have from the Aria booking package, and the potential $100 RC bump from getting to Gold on the trip, if I do. 3 nice meals (at least) inbound. We eatin'  good  for Xmas, y'all. The Xmas-freebies post coming up this year will be tidy.
