Incoming, I Guess.
Strange lack of buzz for a trip that's less than 3 weeks away.
Maybe it's the fact that I've already been to town 3 times this year and 4 times in the last 6 months. Maybe I've been more focused on the new job (true) and the illness I've been fighting the last couple weeks (very true). In any case the hype train should start ramping up now as on this Thursday I'll be 2 weeks out from a solid 3 1/2 day'er.
Don't think there's going to be much of a plan - no shows worth seeing in town and no real theme like there was on the birthday trip. Still pretty buzzed about the killer rate on a good room I'm getting at Luxor. Less than a $40 room rate (not per night - TOTAL) for 4 nights over a weekend is basically the same as a full comp. No possible way I was going to get anywhere near that rate literally anywhere else. MGM/Mlife continue to at least somewhat subsidize my Vegas habit, despite me not really paying them back much. I'll take it.
Truth be told I probably WILL get to Pearl status on this trip, which is still pretty low roller but at least I may see a few more full comp offers and maybe even a RC/FP package or two. That would certainly be helpful for the inevitable Xmas trip, which almost certainly will be the next trip after this one. Will have to knuckle down at work for the rest of the year after this trip is over. Going almost 6 months from this trip to the next will be painful, but I took this job and knew it would (eventually) take a toll on the Vegas, so here it is.
Not much else to break down on this one, really. Not even sure there's a need for a plan post, it's kind of just a simple all-go trip, no need to do "cool down" days on a shorty trip like this. Just flip the switch and try to hold it together for the full 4 nights. Don't even think I'm going to make any food reservations - I kind of overdid it on the steak thing last time so I'm just going to wing it on eats. Fits with the general lack of any sort of direction on this trip (which is a good thing).
So, closing in and getting ready to amp up. Probably a check in or two here before go time but not much else to say except let's jump on this one and have some fun before the nearly 6 month work grind kicks in. T-minus 20 days.
