A Glimmer.
Starting to get just a tiny bit of a stiffy for Xmas Vegas.
The mantra a month ago was "just get through October", both in a life sense and a Vegas sense. Well, it's just a week and a bit away, and I think I'll make it. Next week is already Halloween, for fuck's sake, so yeah. Then once we're into November it's only a couple weeks until Thanksgiving and then it's almost December and then it's only a couple weeks until Xmas and then it's December 22nd.
I'm not saying I have a full heat on like I will in December, but I'm starting to take note of what's happening in town. Checking the news sites a bit more. Checking the forum a bit more. Just starting to keep an eye on things. Maybe at the start of November I start putting in 50 hands of VP practice a few times a week, to start loosening up. It WILL be a gambling trip, as I will need at least 10K points once I arrive to make Gold again, which should be doable without blowing the whole bankroll again, fucking hopefully.
As previously noted, I'll certainly have low overhead on this trip. Room and flights will be around $700 all in, possibly better if Gold is got, and with all the RC and booking package swag I won't have to spend much on food. If I can get out of Dodge having spent only around a grand on the MGM CC in flight/room/food/whatev overhead that will help a lot to keep expenses in line, unlike the last trip. In a last resort sitch I can always cut into the $16K I have available on my other CC's, but that's plan Z for sure.
That of course is on top of the $5K in cash I will be taking, most of that coming from the yearly bonus and maybe a touch from my brokerage account. If I can clear $3K after taxes from the bonus I can put the rest together by hook or crook. I'm not calling this a budget trip but it certainly won't be a blowout like June, those trips have to be VERY few and far between if and until I can make some positive financial life changes in the new year. Who knows, if all goes really well I can extend the trip a day (or two) with no PTO hit.
So yeah. Just a little tingle in the jubbly wubblies. It's a start.
