Back to Vegas, and, surprisingly enough, back to an MGM property.
Was dicking around this morning looking at possible times I could go back based on my work schedule. About the only slot I have until May (which I already HAVE a trip in) was a few days at the end of February. Went on JetBlue to see what the rates look like.
$90. Round trip. Are you shitting me?
Booked.
Then not a half hour later I get an email from my formerly maligned, but earning it's way back into my heart Mlife, with a 3 nights comped offer for NYNY.
Also booked.
So my total overhead for this trip, i.e. flight/room, even with the $30 per night Resort Fee, is under $200. There's also a $50 Freeplay bonus thrown in on the deal. Nice.
I was a little surprised to see the Mlife offer for so many nights. Since I was demoted in tier level I've been seeing slap in the face 1 night offers here and there, but I haven't seen a decent offer like this in 6 months at least. Yeah, it's still NYNY, but I love NYNY, and I've never failed to have a clean, comfy room there. This will be my 5th stay at the resort.
I typically take a trip around the late Feb, early March time frame after my tax refund comes through. This time my refund may be pretty dismal, so I'm just going to plan the financials on this trip as normal. I will throw a few leftover hundie in from the Xmas trip, then it's a normal save cycle for the next three checks. Nothing too painful. It's also just a 3 night stay this time (fly in early Wed, out mid-day Sat), so only need to put together $3K.
So a nice, quick, inexpensive single resort stay to kick off Vegas 2016. Made sure to miss NASCAR and Valentines as well. Short countdown so I won't be driven crazy like the July - December Vegas drought of last year.
Here we go again.
