Skinny (ish).
June is coming up fast.
Just over a month now. It'll be a skinnier trip, no crazy upgrade like last time, no flouncing around with an Emerald suite, and no big spending in general. I'll be having JUST the number on per-day cash spend budget. And right now, I have a good terrace room at Cosmo locked in for a little over $120 all in, no reason to dick with that unless my offers go up in May or June, pretty significantly (UPDATE: they didn't, at least in May). 3/$120/$50 and just over a hundy all in out of pocket for my favorite resort and a non-standard room with a terrace (even if it's just looking at the ass end of Aria) is nails. I like being paid to stay in a top-tier resort in Vegas.
This will be, while skinnier, a pretty relaxed trip money-wise. If I do come back with some pay it forward funds and I haven't wrecked the CC, then a late summer/early fall trip may be doable. If not, and my ass is handed to me, I can just shrivel up into a ball and financially recover until XmasVegas. That would be a LONG stretch with no Vegas, but this is my financial reality now. I'm not saying I WANT to come back busted, but if I do it's not Armageddon. And hey, maybe I'll win some money.
I did decide to go non-skinny on the transportation, I just don't want to mess with airport/airline trouble this trip. Gets me there in the greatest possible (reasonable) comfort and ease, and it sets me up for a better start/end to the trip. The only better option would have been JSX, which has its own challenges (namely, Oakland).
I think this might be the reality now transportation-wise. I despise long waits to board a plane and the worrying about whether or not I'm going to get overhead space. I'm by no means wealthy, but I'm wealthy enough to buy my way out of inconvenience and discomfort, at least within reason. JSX might not always be an option, but an up-front seat on SW or United is worth the extra spend, as is the case this time.
Went pretty hard on food rezzies locked in, to soak up the (minimal) RC on the trip. Jean George on Monday, Jaleo, of course, on the Tuesday which will probably be a do on every trip going forward now, then the option to do Zuma for sushi on the Wednesday if I have funds, or if I just feel like exercising the MGM CC. Other than food, no other expenses or obligations, just a good mid-summer rage/relaxer.
T-minus 40 days.
