Decembies (December Trip Freebies).

Maybe an all-time great haul this time? Can't be arsed to go back and check previous freebie posts but:

-5 nights comped at Caesars Palace - $795 value as of today.
-myVegas reward for 1 night comped at Mirage - $64 value.
-One comped night through Mlife at Monte Carlo in a Park room - $92 value
-myVegas reward at Camelot Steakhouse for $50 off of $100 so $50 value.
-myVegas reward for $50 drink credit at NYNY, $50 value.
-Piff the Magic Dragon show at Flamingo using Vegas.com promo code, $50 off $60 show so $50 value.
-Flight IN to Vegas on Southwest - $75 flight, used points, just paid $5 in taxes so $70 value.
-Restaurant.com certificate at Slice for $25 off of $75 tab, bought for $4 so $21 value.
-Restaurant.com certificate at Senor Frog's for $25 off of $50 tab, bought for $2 so $23 value.

So that's around $1200 in free stuff. Not shabby in the least. myVegas has just recently changed its LP earning policy for the worse, so this may be the last time I am able to use it. I was planning on being able to rack up LP's over the Jan-April months to get free rooms for the April trip but if the LP to time spent ratio isn't worth it anymore (still evaluating), then this may be the last haul of MV rewards. Possibly one more avenue of comps closed off, hope not.

If I'm doing really well on money though I have another day at the end of the time off I've taken to add a night to the trip if I'm feeling it. It would mean using my one comped night at Cosmo through Identity, and would mean paying United a change fee for the back end flight. Could be a do though if I'm still physically and financially OK after 5 days/6 nights of Vegas.

If this IS the best I've ever done on freebies it is likely to be the last of it for quite a while. As I've fully documented my well of comped rooms in Vegas has dried up. Unless I get on a run of success that allows me to drop some serious coin-in on this trip I will have no status anywhere, aside from possibly the one night at Cosmo, which does not a trip make.

I'm committed to the April trip next year, and can't see myself NOT going for Xmas, regardless of the comp situation, but that mid-year trip could be off the table if it's going to be a more or less full boat money sink. Also can't think of any way it won't be just a 3 trip year. I suppose it'll depend on how well I do on the 2 trips coming up.

No reason to think and worry too far ahead though...it's a good comp haul on this coming trip so I'm going to enjoy it and figure out next year next year.

UPDATE:
Going to do the extra night, but no free night available at Cosmo but was able to get a comped Park Preview room (minus resort fee, of course) at Monte Carlo.

This is going to be a baller-ass vacation. Private planes, 1100 sq ft suites in a 5-star resort, steaks and high-end sashimi. We be living  good  on the 55th birthday trip. It all starts with flying semi-private on JSX in and out. Flown with them a couple times before, SO much less hassle than dealing with the fucking major airports. Private terminal, no TSA, no bag worries, big cushy seats, free drinks. Hopping on in OAK and will just UBER it to and from. So much more evolved than being basically violated by TSA in the normal airports.  Then on arrival in LAS it's in the taxi and over to Resorts World. I have added early check-in to standby, so hopefully I can just roll straight up to the room at 1:30p. It's the One Bedroom Suite at the Conrad, 1100 sq ft of lovely at the north end of the strip. No resort hopping this time, one room, one unpack, one relax.  Trying to think back, pretty sure this will be the biggest room I've ever had in Vegas, I think Encore or Dela...

A decent haul, y'all. -6 nights at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. $412 all in. Would be $1409 all in with the best website rate. Saved $997 over rack rate. -$30 Freeplay and $50 Resort Credit included in the deal. $80 value. -Roughly $160 in Freeplay from MGM by the time I get to town, $160 value. Total overhead saved = $1237. Not nearly an all timer but not bad for a holiday week trip. Would have been $700 more had I stayed at Fontainebleau as originally planned so a bit of frugality after the baller April trip.  1 month.

Got a nice little Resort Credit bump today, from an old job.  While I was with Kit/Ro in late '22 to early '23 I racked up some Marriot points while I was flirting with the move to Phoenix. Now that Marriot and MGM are bumping uglies, I was able to convert those (otherwise useless) points into MGM Rewards points. It turned into about $190 in credit, which, thanks old job! That means with what I already had earned, I will have over $230 available for the Xmas trip. Hello, Xmas dinner on Marriot, and one other dinner too. That's on top of the $50 I will have from the Aria booking package, and the potential $100 RC bump from getting to Gold on the trip, if I do. 3 nice meals (at least) inbound. We eatin'  good  for Xmas, y'all. The Xmas-freebies post coming up this year will be tidy.
