Luxury, You Filthy Gutter Rats.

It dawns on my that this may be one of the more Posh (capital P) trips I've taken in a while.

I'll be at the top-end, 5-star Aria, firstly. Yes the standard rooms are a bit run down but with my Gold status I may be able to finagle an upgrade to something more posherer. In any case in terms of resorts you can't do any better in the MGM pantheon. Don't even mention the sleepy, overrated Bellagio to me. Aria's no Wynn, and no Cosmo, and not even a V/P, but it's damn nice and for the price I'm paying it's stonking great for that week.

I've also upgraded to the Alaska Premium Class seats on the flight's in and out. 4 inches more legroom, guaranteed overhead bin space, row 6 for easy in/out, complimentary beer/wine and early boarding before the unwashed masses in the rear of the plane. How disgusting it must be for the little people. In actuality it was only $22 or so more per flight so not sure why more peeps don't do it. This is one of those times in life that when I can pay away inconvenience I will gladly do it.

Then there are the seats at the live shows. I'm just a couple rows back of GA in the orchestra at the Interpol show, and pretty centrally located. Could have some heads in the way from the GA peeps, but I wanted to be seated and this was about as close as I could get. In any case should be a good location to see the boys. Then at the NIN show at Zappos I spent the money for the good good seats. Row A in a just left of center seat right behind and above GA. I should have a rad view of both the band and the goings on in GA. This will be bomb.

At MJ One I'm in the fucking rafters but we won't talk about that.

Then, finally, there will be the reservation at Jean Georges steakhouse on the Wednesday. I'll no doubt sit at the bar but it's always a great experience here and the food is reliably great. It's a beautiful venue and I'll splurge it up here with no limits.

I mean, hey, I can slum it up with the best of them in Vegas, too. I have no issues hanging at Rock House or Double Down or Blondie's, but Vegas can also be a lap of luxury and I'm going to engage in some of that next month. My pre-trip outlay for this one is high with the elevated flights and show tix and I'm going to live it up a little like a baller.
