The anniversary bitchslap of points and resort credit has arrived.

-$100 Tier Celebration Credit for retaining Gold last month.

-$200 anniversary Iconic Resort Credit.

-$250 "free room night" credit, which is just more RC.

-10,000 bonus tier points for getting to Gold.

Add all this to the $100 of RC that is part of my booking package for September, and we have a veritable shitstorm of resort credit booted up. $650. If I exclusively eat at MGM resorts, I won't have to spend a dime for food on this trip, and probably the next one. Crazy. I only have 2 food reservations at the moment, and will probably keep it that way as I like to keep my options open most trip days, but I certainly can B+L+D on the MGM restaurant tip the whole time I'm there.

No extra FP for Slot Dollars from the anniversary thing, but I racked up about $130 last month; add whatever comes in from August and September (which hits while I'm there), add the $120 from the booking package - it might end up being $400-ish total. It won't be a gratis trip, but damn if MGM and the Iconic card aren't trying to get me there.

With the bonus tier credits, I'm now at 91,000, blowing way past Gold. Platinum is 200,000. You might think...hmmm, 2 trips left, can I get there? Should I try? It would be a stretch. To get to where I am, I had 6 months of Iconic card earning, plus the 7500 roll over points from last year, plus that 10K bump for getting to Gold this month. To get another 100K+ in 6 months I would have to do it honestly, with only card earnings and Vegas spend. Probably not doable. 

I will probably concentrate spend at MGM props on at least the first few days of SeptemberVegas, then see where we honestly are. Getting to Gold this early is a blessing, nothing to worry about MGM-wise the rest of the year, meaning I can spread the love (my money) around. I'm not going to ball-and-chain myself to MGM resorts just to try to get $600 in flight credit for next year, which is about the only real benefit to getting to Platinum. As previously stated, I still would like to make a dent in FB's program, since they've been paying me this year.

In any case, these are good problems to have for a Vegas fiend.

In just 10 short days I will be on the ground in Vegas. It almost feels a little unreal. It's been so, damn, long since the last trip. It's been tough to get a heat on for this one but it's here now. Good room, great resort, good location, should be a good time all around. I so need a week to just fucking relax and get out of my own head. Was thinking about adding a night on the back end if I got an even bigger bonus in my review today. No more bonus but a 6% raise, which is better in the long run. So the trip is locked. I committed to "just" 5 days at the start of this after the Junepocalypse and I'm sticking to it. I really can't get myself into too much financial trouble on this one and that's going to make it more enjoyable. Xmas Done Deal.

The inevitable Xmas Vegas is set. Booked the flight and hotel tonight. Was waiting for a good flight deal and found one for a late flight in on Saturday night the 20th, will arrive at about 10:30p. Wasn't digging the early AF morning flights in, too much trouble waiting around to get into the room. This way I'll have the room ready at arrival, can just print a key and head up, and be settled in for a full 5 day trip. Then it's an out time on the fly out day of around 11a, home by a reasonable time and no waiting around in the room to head to the airport, which I hate. $154 all in for the flights, which is damn good for Xmas week. The room will be an Executive King Suite at the Grand. Newly remodeled, they look a lot brighter and airier that the rather dour old Exec suites. Comped for 4 of the 6 nights, all in after taxes and removed resort fees it's around $180. Adding the extra night means about $100 over the suite I had booked at MB, but it's still a hell of a dea...

Skinny (ish).

  June is coming up fast.  Just over a month now. It'll be a skinnier trip, no crazy upgrade like last time, no flouncing around with an Emerald suite, and no big spending in general. I'll be having JUST the number on per-day cash spend budget. And right now, I have a good terrace room at Cosmo locked in for a little over $120 all in, no reason to dick with that unless my offers go up in May or June, pretty significantly ( UPDATE : they didn't, at least in May). 3/$120/$50 and just over a hundy all in out of pocket for my favorite resort and a non-standard room with a terrace (even if it's just looking at the ass end of Aria) is nails. I like being paid to stay in a top-tier resort in Vegas. This will be, while skinnier, a pretty relaxed trip money-wise. If I do come back with some pay it forward funds and I haven't wrecked the CC, then a late summer/early fall trip may be doable.
