T-Minus 1 Week.
The hype train is still a little late getting here for this one. As mentioned in previous posts, still shaking off the crud from the last trip. I have such a, dare I say routine in Vegas now that I don't imagine crappy lightning can strike twice. It should be a fun trip. I'm meeting some "friends" but they're not the kind of friends I don't feel completely comfortable ditching at the first sign of lameness. I've always been a Wolf Pack of One in town and I expect that to be the case for the most part this time as well. Who knows, a couple meet ups outside my comfort zone could end up being fun.
I say it on every trip, but on this one I really am going to try to break out of my usual NY - MC - Cosmo - Bellagio - rinse - repeat rut this time and get over to the other side of the Strip. I have no realistic chance of ever getting to Platinum Mlife in my natural lifetime, so all these trips now are Gold level maintenance and getting higher status in TR and Identity (Cosmopolitan). Would LOVE to get a decent room offer from that place.
That said, it's time to explore the Paris' and PH's and the Wynn/Encore's again at night, not just hurrying through in the daytime to say I've been there. There are so many places on the Strip I never explore due to being so comfy in certain spots. Eh, I've got 4 full days to get around and for once there will not need to be any ferrying from the hinterlands of the Strip (MB/Lux/Ex) to where the real action is, unless I choose to go down there.
This trip could be a mix of firsts and lasts. MiX is still around, I'd love to take that view in one last time before it remodels. It's doubtful, but the Riv might get one last check-in if by some chance I get up that far north. The never-opened Harmon Tower should be nearly done with demolition while I'm there. And there are new spots like Tom's Urban and new bars at Aria and Vdara that may be in play.
The money should be in a good place, I will have no less than $4K spending cash so the $1K a day rule will be in effect.
As per recent posts, will this be the last Vegas trip for a while? We'll see.
If so hopefully I'm going out with a bang.
