The Plan, Xmas 2016.

Not much of a plan.

Pretty unhindered on this trip. No messing around with myVegas, no being tied to Mlife resorts or any resort for that matter. No resort swapping as I have done in the past on Xmas trips, just 5 long, free days at Planet Hollywood.

I get in on the Thursday before Xmas, around noon. Probably a little early to try to check in, so I'll likely get the car to take me to the Cosmo, maybe grab a quick lunch at the Henry to get some liquor soaking going on, then have a drink or two at one of the bars before crossing the street to check in at PH.

Check in, grab a six-pack from The Store by the lobby to take up to my in-room fridge (a free one with no strings attached!) and head up to check out the Ultra Hip Fountain View room. Unpack, iron some shirts if needed, relax for a little bit, have a beer and check out what should be a pretty great view. Don't think I'll need a nap as I don't have a crazy early wake up call this time.

After that I'm free as a bird. Probably will just make my rounds and see what there is to see. As above I have no special reason to hang out in any particular place for comp reasons; I'm going to try to gamble predominantly at the Cosmo and maybe some at Venetian/Palazzo but frankly I don't really do a lot of gambling any more, so it's mainly a good drinking, good fooding trip for the most part, as a holiday trip should be.

Going to try to eat something like 3 squares a day on this trip as I think that will keep me from hitting a wall on the drinking as I've done the last couple trips, especially since this is a five day-er. I've purchased, via Restaurant.com, 3 certificates for great discounts at places that are right around PH, The Pampas Brazilian steakhouse in Miracle Mile, Slice Pizza right next to PH, and Carlos & Charlies right up past Paris. All easy to get to, won't require reservations so I can just pop in whenever and will be $75 worth of value for $7 spent. Should help me stay fooded.

Friday - see above.

Saturday - One of my open days I want to try to make it up to the by then newly opened Lucky Dragon resort opening on the north strip up by SLS. Seems it will be smallish and catering to an Asian clientele but it's not often in the time I've been going to Vegas that a totally new resort opens up, so I should at least make an appearance. There are some other places I've wanted to check out up north like Artisan so maybe I'll make a day of it up there. Likely will take the Monorail up.

Sunday - Xmas day, I have made a reservation at Strip House at PH for the traditional Xmas steak. Breaking the Gallagher's at NYNY tradition, but rewards points-wise it doesn't make any sense to book anything MGM this trip. Strip House is supposed to be quite good so hopefully it will come close to the great Gallagher's quality. They do something called "Oscar Style" which is steak topped with crab meat and with Hollandaise over the top. I'm in.

Monday, last day - no plans.

Tuesday is fly out day. No messing around with a late-ass flight this time, I'm on a plane at 3:30p so I can basically just sleep in til check out time, maybe get lunch somewhere then head to the airport which I imagine will be busier than normal 2 days after Xmas. Back to the hobbit hole by 6p.

Seems like a pretty fool-proof trip, this one. Not much can go wrong, it would seem. I got the flight right this time, no crazy early or crazy late flights in or out. Gave myself a recovery day after the trip which will be a godsend after a 5-day trip no doubt. Not over-planning it to death as I've done on other trips, I'm out before the bros descend for NYE, no resort hopping and only one time obligation on the whole trip. No molly or coke to clog up my sinuses and make me nauseous, just sweet, sweet alcohol. 3 Dubs games while I'm there, Thu/Fri/Sun, if I care by then.

Sounds like a good, relaxing way to ring out another Vegas year.
