Finally all set for Xmas Vegas transportation.
Used part of my left-over funds from last trip to pay for a flight back. I had booked the flight in a couple months ago with SWA points,
but now finally had a good price drop show up on United so I booked it. Only $79. So with the $6 ticket for the flight in it's $85 on flight overhead, pretty good. I would like to have used my JetBlue $75 credit on this flight but all of their flights out of Vegas on that day are with a stop in fucking Long Beach which, no. So I'll save it for the next one, whenever that will be.
That good price comes with a caveat though, it's a 6a flight. Normally that would be horrifying after 5 days in Vegas but since the night before is Xmas day it will likely be a pretty mellow night in town so I'll just party it up during the day and get into bed by about midnight so I can get a few hours of sleep then head to the airport. I'll be back here by 7:30a, which will give me a nice full two days to recover before having to go back to work.
Frankly the early flight is fine. That last day in town lately has always been a low-energy day for me and always feels a bit funereal so cutting the night short makes sense and shouldn't bother me much. It also solves the problem I HATE that is waiting around on the fly out day to...fly out. When it's time to go I just want to be GONE, not sitting in a resort waiting or waiting forever in the airport. This way I can get to the airport at 5a and not have to waste any time. I'll probably be about used up after 5 full nights and days in Vegas anyway.
So everything is set, flying in on the 20th around 9:30p, staying at the Mirage on a gratis room from myVegas, then 4 full days at Caesars
and one most of day and short, probably relaxing night comped. All in overhead on this one comes in under $300 for resort fees and flights. Not the best ever but not at all bad for 6 nights in Vegas. Now a few months to get some planning done for this one so I'm not just bar-hopping the entire trip, like the last one.
One last trip to close out the year, and maybe the last Vegas trip for a while? We'll see.
UPDATE:
Staying another day/night so it's ixnay on the United flight (just ate the cost of the ticket) and found an even cheaper $40 (!) flight back on the 27th. Booked the last day at a good rate (less than $60) at the Mirage again. So now 2 nights total there book ending the 5 nights at Caesars.
This may be questionable judgement.
