Pretty Much Set.
Took advantage of a little bonus money this past week to shore up Vegas - for the next trip and the next after next.
Was asked not to pay half of rent this month since there's horrid house construction going on here, so used that extra bonus to:
A) buy the plane ticket for the April trip.
B) buy the ticket to Mystere on Xmas eve.
C) buy myself another winter sweater so I don't look identical to last year on this upcoming trip.
All good stuff. I figured I was going to be skint from now til the trip so rather than thinking short term and using the extra funds to go out this weekend in the City, I took care of making sure large portions of the next trips are handled.
I'm pretty much resigned to last Saturday having been my last day out here til after the trip. It's 2 full months now, 8 weekends of boredom, but it is what it is at this point, it's the price I'm willing to pay for 5-6 nights in happy land. I'm more willing to pay it for the Xmas trip, I SO look forward to this trip every year and intend to do the Vegas over Xmas thing every year until I'm unable, for whatever reason.
Found out today too that the Palace Tower renovations at Caesars are complete, so I will be staying in a new-ish, quite nice looking room for most of the trip. No hi-res pics up yet to share, but room looks classy and comfortable. I've lucked out during this run of comped CET stays to have stayed in recently renovated rooms on four of the five trips I've taken.
-Ultra Hip at PH
-Burgundy Room at Paris
-Jubilee Room at Bally's
-and now the Palace Premium coming up.
All of them had nice to spectacular views too, so hopefully I can request and/or luck into a good one this time.
When I was an Mlife/MGM snob I always looked down on CET properties a bit as being on the lower end; that might have been the case in the past but after this past year I'd say MGM is lagging behind now on overall room quality if anything. I'm sad to be losing the run of comped rooms but hold no grudge against CET or TR for it, I haven't played enough in CET props to earn any more. Five trips in all, rooms fully comped, so it was good while it lasted.
So overall pretty much set to go, I may have a couple more myVegas or other coupon-y things coming up to add to the itinerary but for the most part the plan is done and now it's just the waiting.
