Well shit. June.

I'm a fucking idiot.

Yet again against best intentions I've added a Vegas trip to the hopper for this year off the cuff. I'll be going for two nights in mid-June to see NIN at the Hard Rock. It's the only North American shows they have planned so far this year. Easily one of my top 5 bands and the opportunity to see them in a pretty exclusive fashion and in Vegas was just too much to turn down. Haven't been to Hard Rock since my first trip, and have never seen a show at the Joint so this should be fun. It'll be a quickie, in early bird on the 12th and out in the afternoon of the 14th, so basically 2 full days/nights.

Luckily the overhead will be pretty low. I got in on the pre-sale and got a balcony seat (too old for GA) for $95. Booked flights on Expedia, it'll be United on the way in Tuesday morning, basic economy so no full carry-on bag but that's fine, I'll only need a couple days summer clothes so it'll all fit in my small Timbuk 2 bag. Alaska on the way out Thursday.

The room will be two nights comped in a Park MGM King. The place is still a bit of a construction mess, but it's a good location for the show and the room is more than adequate for a quick trip. I'll have the resort fee to pay for and the nightly hold but all that's to be expected and will be no biggie. All in with fees and everything I come in at just a little over $300, pretty solid overhead for a top-tier show, round trip flight and two nights in a 3-star.

Monetarily I'll likely still be recovering from the April trip and getting ready to save for the August trip, so unless I come into some cash in April this is likely to be a minimal gambling trip. Maybe will only take $1300 total with me as spending cash, just food/drink funds. Basically $650/day, trying to go cheap eats and drinks as much as possible. Not in town so much for the "Vegas experience" on this one, more for the show.

Well this certainly wasn't the plan this year - I had truly meant to keep it to a 3-trip year but fucking Trent Reznor shot me in the foot. If all goes well though this will be a low impact trip on the finances and if nothing else it keeps my streak of consecutive years with 4 Vegas trips intact, for whatever that's worth.

So now it's roll on April, June, August and December. Sheesh.
