The Plan, December '18
Pretty good Vegas year thus far, nothing Earth-shattering but 3 solid trips and I'm ready to close out the proceedings with one last blowout. 6 nights in the desert await, so time to plan. This post will likely update as I get closer.
Day One:
Early-ish flight in, if all goes to plan will be on the ground by 11:00a Sunday morning. Doing the Bell Limo thing again, probably straight over to Vdara to drop the bag at the bell desk, then having done the pre-check-in thing will try to find someplace around there to have brunch while waiting for my keys. Maybe something like The Henry at Cosmo, don't want to roam too far from from the room early that day as owing to the early wake up call, after I check in I may well be in need of a napper.
After successful check-in and a probable nap, time to get cleaned up and head out for night one in town. No real set plan in terms of destinations, going to try to ease into this first night as I'm there for a whole 6 days. Probably will take it easy drinking on night one and just relax. Gambling-wise I'll have a full day's save but I'd like to get a head start on putting together a solid late-trip bankroll, so maybe a little light VP that night but nothing too hectic. All in all a "work my way into it" day drinking and gambling, and likely in bed fairly early to get some sleep equity accruing.
Day Two:
After check out of Vdara and check in at Caesars, handcuffs are off and this is a "get 'er done" Vegas full rage day. No plans no excuses no restraint no bail outs.
Day Three:
Cool down day part one. Again since this is a longer trip, and not wanting to run into any walls, I'm going to go easy this day and try to eat a lot, drink a lot of (non alcoholic) fluids and if drinking stick to beer. Definitely a good thing to have a couple "recharge" days built into the marathon. Wake up later if possible, Gatorade Gatorade Gatorade, big lunch somewhere then see where the day takes me.
In the evening, after a possible nap and light snack I'm over to Mirage at 7p seeing Beatles LOVE again, due to a Vegas Message Board tip that they're doing a dress rehearsal of the show that night for only $35. I got a ticket literally right next to the stage. I've always been in the rafters for this show on myVegas vouchers so this should kick ass seeing the performers right up close. It works well too as it's right next door to Caesars (short commute).
After the show I'll need some food. Going to cross the street and hit Cut steakhouse at Palazzo. After food the gloves may come off a bit drinking-wise, still trying to make sure I'm not just drinking half a bottle of Belvedere and staying up til dawn. More than likely the food coma from the filet at Cut will temper my desire for shots, which is the point.
Day Four:
Handcuffs are off and this is a "get 'er done" Vegas full rage day. No plans no excuses no restraint no bail outs part deux.
Day Five:
Cool down day part two. Getting right by Jeebus on the second to the last day in town so I can go rage boy on the last. Probably will sleep in and come down to have lunch somewhere, then pointless roaming in play for rest of day. Again lots of fluids and NOT lots of shots, maybe a light snack in there somewhere too to keep the food on. Should have a decent bankroll going by now on the trip so maybe some slots somewhere while sipping on bad casino vodka/crans. Or if no luck is being had just maybe hit a sports bar like Twin Peaks and soak up a beer or two.
Possible nap if needed, then in the early evening it's over to the Forum Shops for a reservation at Joe's Stone Crab, they have a filet Oscar that has my name on it. This will likely be the splurge meal of the trip. After the meal, may need a drink or two to ward off the food coma; there's a new cocktail bar in Palazzo called Electra that I will have already checked out by now on the trip, but I'll likely head in here again if I'm up V/P way. It's owned and run by the same people who do the Dorsey and Rosina, two of my fave cocktail bars in town. Avoiding the south strip this night as there's a Knights game at TMobile, likely to be a shit show down there.
Day Six:
By now I should be fully charged from the previous day's rest, I should have a fierce bankroll and a hard peener and be ready to go full monkeys out on the last day in Vegas. Pull out the stops, kick out the jams, grab all the tits and several other cliches will be engaged. You get the idea. In other words...
...no plans no excuses no restraint no bail outs part troi.
Fly Out Day:
No need to be worried about a too-early wake up, as my flight goes after 1:00p, so a nice 10:30a or so wake up, leisurely shower and pack, then probably jump in the limo and head straight over to the airport as the Saturday before Xmas it's likely to be busier than normal. Can grab a coffee and a lunch while waiting for the plane then hopefully it's on time and I'm out of there and home by sometime around 4:00p. No worries about having to work the next day, obviously, so can relax and enjoy the rest of the weekend.
Really liking the cut of this trip's jib. One "work into it" day, three full rage days and two "take it easy" days to keep myself from going overboard and, you know, dying. It's not technically a Xmas trip but It might even be a better week to go and I'm in full lust mode right now. Ready to light this candle.
