Good shorty trip. No drama.

Flight in was sorta fucked, my supposed 9a flight was cancelled the night before by Alaska (3rd trip in a row at least one of my flights has been cancelled by them) and then once the 11:30a flight did board (late) we had a ground hold for almost an hour before we got in the air. Didn't end up getting to Vegas until after 2p. In Alaska's defense it WAS shitty weather all day but it's frustrating to lose Vegas time on such a short trip.

Finally got into town, in a cab and to Bally's for painless check-in then out to the strip by 3p. Took a cab straight over to V/P and stopped into the Dorsey for a couple, then on to both Electra and Rosina. Always good to see Evan, Daniel, Armando and the crew. Hadn't eaten anything all day and was getting drunkish so made my way over to Joe's Stone Crab in the Forum Shops and had a very good filet. On most trips it would have been the highlight meal but another steak later in the trip would beat it (foreshadowing). Stopped into the Ramsay pub in the Palace again and got shitty service again so that will be the end of that.

Kinda just moseyed around the rest of the night, made it into Alto at CP, Vesper at Cosmo and Rock & Reilly, tried to end the night at Fuel but they were slammed so just had a final final at the bar next to it, got some great chicken strips at Blue Ribbon and racked out. Probably around 1a.

Next day, got a pretty good night's sleep and up and out of the room at around noon. It was pouring rats bats and monkeys all day but, unlike 90% of the rest of the peeps on the strip, I had an umbrella, so my mobility wasn't affected much. Had a drink here and there, doubled my money on a 4OAK at Chandelier in Cosmo then headed down to Park MGM to check out Eataly. Snoozer. Not my thing at all. A couple bars but the environment is so noisy I had no inkling to sit. Then went into the new Nomad bar and had a couple great Amaretto Sours and BS'd with the bartenders for a while.

Lit out of the Park and over to NYNY but only to use the skybridge to MGM. Played a little VP, broke even hitting 4OAK 9's a couple times. Then made my way down to R&R again. Not much going on and was thinking maybe a nap but when I got up to my room my 2nd wind kicked in so I just showered and headed out again, took a cab to V/P again and hit Electra and Rosina. Good times.

Hadn't eaten again all day and despite the fact that it was Valentines night I was able to get into Delmonico and man, was that a good decision. Easily one of the best filets I've had on town, maybe only 2nd to STK. Perfectly seasoned, cooked, and just a beauty. Definitely will be back, and often. Went up after the steak to the Britannia pub in the Canal Shops, dead as always but a reasonably personable bartender so I stuck around a bit.

Then it was a cab down to Rock & Reilly again, shots and beers, had some boring nachos at Nacho Daddy (didn't have the guts to get my usual Buffalo Chicken nachos) then made my way back to the room, pretty well drunked out.

Day 3, last day, didn't sleep well at all, maybe got 6 solid hours and slept late. Went straight down to Fuel after showering to get a couple Vodka/Red Bulls to try to wake up. It worked. My mantra for the day was to "do something different", so I meandered into Bellagio of all places, which I generally hate, and had a couple at the sports bar there while watching golf. Then went over to Chandelier for one, then made a long wander down to MGM and went into the Level Up place in there, for some reason.

Meandered some more back over to Cosmo, played some more VP still breaking even more or less, then it was time for the trek back over to V/P for Electra again to say goodbye to Evan. Was hangry by this time so I decided to go into the new-ish Chica at Venetian - bad move. Had a very not good strip steak mole thing that was just, yeah. Went up to Rockhouse for a couple, then walked down to the Linq and stopped into the 3535 bar in there, hitting $300 on 4 aces which was nice. Financial pressure was off for the night, so kept going into AmeriCan for a beer and a shot.

Dead in there and it was bitch-ass cold so I then went to the little lounge outside Drai's in Cromwell. Man that was a hoot. Stayed there for a couple hours just people watching as the rabble headed up for a show up there and with a couple good DJ's on the ground. Then stumbled to Fuel one last time, into Gustav's at Paris for a final and a bit more break even VP and up to the room, around 2a.

Fly out day painless (after a nice long barf in the room) and on time, back to the hobbit hole by 2p. For a non-planned shorty trip, a good time and a good use of my tax refund.

Now bring on April.
