K Bai.
In about 16 hours time I'll be roadbound for the Vegas. Not much left to say or do, really. The bags are 90% packed, the car is checked out and GTG, just need to get a good night's sleep, get everything in the 'Rolla in the morning, do a few hours of work then head out around 11a to do the first Vegas roadtrip.
Money's out of the bank, $2900 total over 3 1/4 days to spend. That's $800/day for the full 3 and $500 for the first night. Should be more than enough. Going to try to stay within the cash means and leave my debit and CC alone, for the most part. May put a few meals on the Mlife CC to maximize points earned (it's kind what the card is for), but given the short turnaround this time between trips I'd like to have as little liability on it as possible for that Xmas trip.
Bringing a little more sartorial style with me this time, or at least as much as my fashion-challenged ass can muster. Toting along some black dress pants, not going to do much on the top end aside from my usual dark golf pullovers but at least making some kind of effort beyond jeans, Though those are going too. I can't back up a baller wardrobe with a baller bankroll so no need to flex too much. But for the inevitable Sam Ross lounge trio appearances I can look a little more like I belong.
NoMad is locked in. Hoping for the Atelier room bump but if it's not forthcoming I'm not going to make too big a stink. It's possible the room is considered a suite and in that case it won't be doable most likely. The Classic King is small but looks posh and it's enough room for little old me for 4 nights. It's not like I'm going to be holding 20-person ragers every night in my room. This reservation was more about the nexus of frugality and location anyway, and it beats the band on both of those.
Have the electronics and music sitch worked out in the Corolla. It'll be the iPad over Bluetooth for tunes, and the phone with Android Auto for nav. If the phone loses signal I have an in-car WiFi hotspot I can use as a backup, and paper directions if all else fails. I put together a good 7+ hour car playlist on the iPad so hitting shuffle on that and letting it run should do the trick. SiriusXM as a backup to that if needed.
I'll have a couple Starbucks Fraps in a little cooler, along with some apple slices. Just enough to keep my metabolism running. Don't want to have to make stop to use facilities if at all possible. 1 stop for gas and driving at best speed the rest of the way. Filled up the tank this afternoon so should be able to make it 3/4 of the way there w/o stopping.
So that's it. Hopefully a good little unexpected added trip with no real impact on the finances, a true bonus trip in every way. Let's do this.
