The Plan, Xmas 2020.
Whelp, a little over a week out, and I still have no concrete reason to think I'm NOT going to Vegas for Xmas, so, plan post time.
Sunday: Fly in day, early to rise and down to work to drop off the car, then on to SFO for the flight out at 11:45a. To town if all goes well by 1:30p or so, taxi to Cosmo and try to check in, if too early I'll drop the bag and get a couple drinks somewhere while waiting. Once up in the room, do the unpack and head out to the strip. Getting sorted on day one is the priority after getting on the ground. Any drink/gamble time is a bonus.
Sunday evening, since reservations for the trip will likely be required, I have a reservation at the Pub at Crystals for 4p. Figure that's a good spot to soak up a little booze and at least it's close to the Cosmo. After that it'll likely be a cab and over to the Palazzo to hang with whomever is at Electra and Rosina, hopefully the Evan/Daniel combo. Then we'll see where the night goes from there. I will have a little bit of gambling funds so maybe a bit of that back at Cosmo and nightcaps at Vesper? We'll see how it shakes out. Probably not a horrifically late bed time.
Monday: first full day in town, sleep in a bit if possible, then get up and see what there is to see on Xmas week. Weekdays this Vegas year have been the challenge in terms of finding things to do/see/drink/eat/fuck. Do have a rezzy at Carlos & Charlies at Flamingo for lunch, so I'm covered if nothing else is open. Can use a R.com certificate. Monday night I have another food stop at Noodles at Bellagio, start getting the Mlife points working there then no plans the rest of the night, just see where the strip takes me. Full gamble funds every day the rest of the trip so some Cosmo VP in store no doubt.
Tuesday: same story as Monday, slowish probably on strip but will work the process. Drinks, eats, gambles, chasing tail. The first of two Yardhouse rezzy's to soak up the $100 GC. In the afternoon a Dubs game happens at 4p so I'll catch some of that somewhere. Tuesday night is the Identity points soak up meal at STK, have been there and loved the filet, bit of a "party" atmosphere which can be annoying (see Stack at Mirage, or better yet don't) but hopefully it'll be toned down for Xmas week. Then after dinner I am cowboy.
Wednesday: a little complication works into the program as this is the day I have to pack up out of the beautiful Cosmo and pack into the less beautiful but still nice Bellagio. Hopefully a painless process, undecided as to whether I will just mobile check in and await my room fate or brave the check in line to see if there's an upgrade at all. It will probably depend on how damn many Pakistanis (and their entire extended families) are in line to check in that day. I do have a lunch date at Sadelle's on site after I drop my bag at the bell desk, so that'll help waste a little time until I can get up to the room.
In any case hopefully up, into and out of the room by 3p latest then a couple hours to bum around the center strip before hitting food reservation time back at Cosmo for Holsteins, the burger place in there. Utilize any unused ID points and get some burger and beer action on. Good mid-week break from the nicer more "foodie" places I'll be hitting on the strip that week. After dinner, drinking and carousing time.
Thursday: Xmas Eve. No plans no responsibilities this day outside of another Yardhouse rezzy at 12p, wandering aimlessly afterwards the probable outlook. Should have plenty of gamble cash built up by this time so maybe a little more VP and slot time in the works at Cosmo. Banging that Identity card will be the key to free Cosmo rooms in the future. Probably will stop into the Dorsey around 4p when they open, then the late evening is the rezzy at Yellowtail in Bellagio, this is where I offload all my accumulated Mlife Express Comps and resort credit. Yet another free-ish meal on this trip of many free-ish meals. After that: only the Shadow knows. If I end up doing a downtown day it might be this one.
Friday: Xmas Day, last day in town. All bets are ON, trying possibly to get to that Gold Identity tier. Ramble, ramble; lunch at Slice at MB is scheduled during the Warriors game, more Restaurant.com certificate-age. If I do end up down there maybe hang at MB a while then get back to Bellagio, I need to pre-pack for the early flight in the morning and freshen up in the room before heading over for the woohah splurge meal of the trip at my beloved Delmonico Steakhouse at V/P. No discounts here, just fucking filet mignon. And worth every penny. No doubt the Sam Ross trio after dinner for cocktails, more aimless rambling then will inevitably end up at Cosmo throwing the last of what I have decided is my expendable cash into VP machines. Vesper again no doubt, them stumble back to Bellagio for bedsies.
Saturday: fly out day? We'll see. Assuming I'm leaving, hopefully not too much of a zombie after 6 days of Vegas but need to get up pretty early to brave the post Xmas airport crap. Need to be through TSA by 9a so probably a 7:00-something wake up call. Brutal, but that's how the schedule worked out, and at least it gives me the better part of 2 full days to recover before having to go back to work. With any luck back in the hobbit hole by 12:30p.
If I do stay an extra night, I have a flight booked on Allegiant that soaks up the flight credit that was due to expire the next day. No harm no foul if I decide to come home Saturday it costs me nothing. I have no doubt that a couple days before I can get a comped or very inexpensive room somewhere in the MGM pantheon if Bellagio doesn't have one.
And that's a Xmas trip. Not much of a plan aside from what I'm forced to plan (food), but if I stick by at least most of the reservations I'll definitely be getting around. At least on this trip I won't have to waste Vegas time sitting through a horrid Star Wars film, like last year. T-minus 9 days.
