The Plan (Such As It Is), April 2023.

So!

We are counting down to the Vegas again. Plan post, with no plan. Just some highlights:

The in:

If all goes well, on the ground on the 20th, a Thursday, by about 9p. Cab to NYNY and checked in, up to the room to dump the bag and out to the strip by 10p. Will have been to work all day and up at around 7a so if this isn't a rager night all is forgiven. No plan this night (a theme on this trip), might stay close to NYNY so no need to cab anywhere. We'll see. Light gambling, a snack, and drinkies on the menu.

The bulk of the trip:

Then Fri-Mon it's just the Vegas-ing. Not seeing any shows (nothing left that I want to see), only 2 dinner reservations (Saturday at Morimoto at MGM, Monday at Il Fornaio at the home base), and beyond that it's just the big wander. It's a short enough trip that I don't think I have to do a cool down day, but we'll play that by ear (and the rest of the body). This trip will really just be walk out to the NYNY valet in the morning and pick a direction.

The gambles:

Mostly MGM resorts. I have a nice head start on keeping Gold for the year but a solid first trip will go a long way to making it a laugher. No real incentive to gamble anywhere else, though I'm sure a few hundy will drop in strange non-MGM machines. If I can get somewhere around 35-40K points in by end of trip it will have been a win. Whether or not there's actually any, you know, winning.

The eats and dranks:

Will try to eat most proper meals at MGM props, again to maximize pointage, but I'm not going to be adamant about it. If I'm craving a Delmonico filet one night, so be it. Just going to try to keep packing in the calories to keep up with the drink intake, which will be heavy. When in town I'm almost always at a steady 7 on the 1-10 drunk scale, and this trip should be no different. Again, I will let the body run the show and slow down if needed, but I have no reason to think this trip will be any different than normal in that respect.

The strip:

It will be busy. It will be crowded. As always. Luckily there's not much going on event or convention-wise so it shouldn't be any MORE goofy than normal. As I often tell myself, I will just try to avoid pinch points and cab as much as possible to stay sane.

The out:

Tuesday, out of the room by checkout time and straight to the airport and, Jeebus willing, home in the hobbit hole by around 3:30p. Trip # 48 done and dusted.

Starting to get a pump on for this one now. 4 months is too long between trips...we about to rectify that.
