Post-Mortem, June 2023.

Oof.

Can't lie, that pretty much sucked. Not much to say about this one but that. Some quick impressions I guess.

Flights:
No issues, both on time and was actually able to get an a hour earlier flight on the out so that was all good.

Rooms:
Mostly OK, got into the Aria room right away on the Saturday, got upgraded to a Strip View, fine but boring as always there. The check in line for Cosmo was hellacious on the Sunday, stood there sweating for nearly an hour before finally getting up to the room. Room was fine, PH view, little smaller than I remembered from the first stay but still a very nice room. Housekeeping was a constant issue at Cosmo, one time didn't show up until 9p. Other than that a good base for 5 nights.

Food:
Almost non-existent. I think I only had 2 sit-down meals the whole time I was there. Flaked on the one reservation I had. Ended up living on Chex Mix and Snickers a couple days. Really bad.

Drinking:
A lot.

Body:
Barely hung on. Several nights I came home early just either tired or unable to muster the energy to be around people. Probably due to the copious drinking and little to no eating of anything nutritious. Forgot about the electrolyte tabs I had until the last day. The last full day of the trip I probably only spent 3-4 hours on strip. Wack. Have to take better care of myself on these long trips.

Gambling:
Worst trip I can ever remember having. I lost 4K on VP/slots over the 6 nights. I hit one straight flush on the first day then literally nothing the rest of the trip. It was almost comical. I just sat there shaking my head as the hundies disappeared. No fun whatsoever. Add to that I probably will end up having another $3400 on the CC to pay off from the trip. Likely a historically bad money trip.

The worst part was I only did a little of the gambling at MGM, so I gained a crap amount of points. Very likely not making Gold this year unless I can squeeze in another trip before Xmas. Even with the monthly CC infusion it's going to be sketch.

Show:
OPM was fine. It's been re-imagined so it's not the almost full on comedy show that it was before, now it's mostly performers. It was OK but not as good as the first time I saw it.

So, yeah, basically nothing went to plan and it's going to take me a couple months to recover from this one financially. Xmas probably next and frankly I'm good with that RN. Need a Vegas break.
