Xmas Locked.
All prep for XmasVegas done.
The room is at the lovely Cosmopolitan, really looking forward to it. The Terrace Studio is a great home base for a week of shenanigans, and if the weather is decent there might even be some customary late night ice cream on the terrace after plowing through a bottle of Belvedere during the day. Nothing better than coming downstairs in the morning and going straight to Vesper for Espresso Martinis, either.
Flights and SFO parking sitch was locked down today, I'm on a good flight again like last time with Alaska, good seats and guaranteed early boarding for both flights. And I'm locked into LTP at SFO for parking again, just a 15 minute tram ride from the gates. Again, my whole thing with the airport is to reduce time and strife getting in and out, without breaking the bank. Flights and parking together were close to $600 (way more than the hotel), but going with budget flights and sketchy offsite parking lots is just hell on the day. Being able to spend your way out of inconvenience is the true glory of later life.
Couple all this with the fact that I won't even have to do a save for this trip due to the healthy company bonus incoming, and it's a stress-free lead up to the yearly XmasVegas. I'll certainly have $1K a day spend for the 6 days and probably a decent reserve for any "unforseens".
I will be a complete free agent in terms of spend too, I have zero incentive on this trip to spend money at MGM resorts, aside from the booking package. I've already locked down my status for next year so any points earned on this trip will only disappear after the 1st of January. Being that I'm staying at an MGM resort, I certainly WILL have some spend there, but I don't have to lock in like I have in past years just to make Gold. I can bust out the foreign players cards for the rest of the strip, see if I can mine some dosh out of them for once, and maybe pick up a teaser offer somewhere for 2027.
So essentially, barring any of the aforementioned unforseens, I'm in glide mode for the rest of the year, finishing off with what should be a hell of a XmasVegas trip.
I'm ready.
