The Plan 12/14.

Get around.

I want to see more of Vegas this time, not just the west side of the Strip. Being I'm there 4 full days, the plan is thus:

Night 1:
Getting in at around 10p on the 23rd, off quickly to drop my bag at Flamingo then probably hit up the Cos (Cosmopolitan, not Bill Cosby) as per usual and maybe just run around on the center Strip a bit. Not going to gamble much at all this night as it's just kinda the "bonus night" and the real crazy begins the next day, though I'm sure many a chilled Belvedere will be had that night.

Day 1, Xmas Eve:
This will be a bit of a "getting re-acquainted with the Strip" day. I need to check out of Flamingo and make my way south slowly, hitting up Monte Carlo (pick up myVegas drink voucher), NYNY (uh, pick up bigger myVegas drink voucher) and finally Mandalay to check in for 3 nights and to once again pick a myVegas voucher, this time for an appetizer at MiX. Probably just dick around a bit on the way to MB then maybe catch a quick nap after checking in if the previous night was a rager...I'm dead set on not running into a wall like I did on day 3 of my last trip so I'm going to make sure I eat and sleep well to avoid said wall.

Night 2, still Xmas Eve:
After nappy it's up to Mix to cash in the appetizer voucher, have a couple drinkies and take in the best view in Vegas (that I know of). May spin the reels a bit in the MB/MC/NYNY corridor then just play it by ear, possible trek east to Double Down or west to Rio/Palms (never been) may be in the cards. Likely will end up back at Cosmopolitan doing the do as I do. Maybe Rock House at Venetian, fun spot with a spectacular bartender I'm hoping to see again. The outfits they wear are seriously better than a strip club. Then get some FOOD (mental note) and stumble back to MB.

Day 2, Xmas:
Not much going on in the morning/afternoon of Jeebus' birthday, probably sticking around the south end of the Strip, maybe wander over to Tropicana (never been) as they have a $200 gaming losses promotion, so gambling a bit and getting a nap in, because there are two big items on the agenda for..

Night 3, still Xmas:
...first is doing my one splurge meal at Strip Steak at MB (cashing in some if not all of my $100 resort credit) and second is watching the Dubs/Clips game at 7:30, probably in the sportsbook at Mirage. Steak and hoops. Game will be over around 10p so then I may backtrack to NYNY and use my $50 drink voucher if it's not too busy or if it is hang at Nine Fine Irishmen or head to The Pub at MC to use yet another voucher for 2 for 1 beer flights. Lot of free shit to use up on this trip. Anyway, it's Xmas night so everywhere should be pretty mellow if I remember right from last year.

Day 3:
This is my "get around" day. The walking shoes will be put to the test as I plan to get up to see the new SLS casino way the fuck up on Sahara, then may dick around in Wynn/Encore for a while since I haven't been up there in several trips. Need to pace myself drinking-wise, no nap this day since I'm a metric fuck distance away from home base, so...

Night 3:
...on to either walk up past Stratosphere to several dive bars up north, or to check out Artisan east on Sahara which is supposed to be hopping. This could be a "watch the sun come up" night as I will likely not do the smart thing (get a cab back to the south strip) but will likely walk all the way back stopping in every one of my spots along the way. And I have a lot of spots. Which means...

Day 4:
...could be a bummer early as I have to check out of MB and check into Flamingo again (I know, stupid planning but it all came together late). After the previous night I may very well crash immediately again upon checking into Flam and it could be a lost day really, we'll see. Kinda not planning much this day so as to keep expectations low and sleep/recovery high.

Night 5, the last hurrah:
I may need the day of sleep as I intend to blow out the jams on the last night. Saturday nights are fucking golden in Vegas, and without a doubt there will be heavy drinking to be had. Will start out by killing any outstanding drink vouchers I may have left, then absolutely the Cosmo will be happening. There is nothing like the Cosmopolitan on a weekend night. It's a blur of dancing, girls, sound, DJ's and general Vegas awesome. Around 12-1a I will start working (stumbling?) my way back south to stop and say "Bye" to some bartender acquaintances and see if After at 1923 Burlesque is running. Problem is, After is so named because it starts at...3a. Could see a pillow back up north at Flamingo around 7a if all goes according to plan. Unfortunately the plan also calls for me to be on a plane at 10:30a, so hopefully I will have the funds to bump that later at some point in the trip. Not going to worry about it, if I smell like a vodka distillery on the flight, hey, fuck you, I paid for my seat. Could be painful though. The couple extra hours sleep a later flight might buy me could be crucial.

So them's the rough plans, all of which could get completely fucked if I get run over by a moose or meet a girl or see a friend from the City or, well damn near anything. It's Vegas. But even if I follow this to the letter I'm going to have a fucking amazing time, so either way I'm psyched.
