Set.
Pretty much good to go for trip #3 of 2016.
Cash saving may be slightly low this time, I have a couple likely reimbursements coming this month that will get me to normal territory but worst case I'll have $3K cash and another $2k (probably not needed) on my Cap1 card. It was hard to keep myself out the the Saturday go-out routine this last month, should have another $1k in the bank but oh well. I rarely spend more than $3k on any of these trips anymore so I should be fine. I have $2K in the bank now and the last check before the trip fills it out. UPDATE: just realized due to the Labor Day bank holiday I should be getting paid on the 2nd, i.e. the Friday that I'm there, right in the middle of the trip. So the money should be fine. UPDATE UPDATE: Got an MRA bump just in time, $585 more going in to the fund, so $3585+ whatever comes in on the 2nd. I'm fine.
Don't know if it's the consistent lack of winning anything on these trips or what, but as detailed in a previous post I don't have the stomach to gamble much anymore anyway. If I sit down at a machine and lose a hundie I usually am done with it for a few hours. My coin in certainly has declined over the years. Kind of a reverse Pavlov's dog thing maybe, I don't know. So, the $3k in cash should be enough, with my gambling budget down.
I got rid of my tix for both Coldplay and the Aussie Pink Floyd show. Coldplay b/c I bought the ticket before I saw the setlist on this tour, which is awful. Only about 20 songs, most of which from the last two (terrible) albums. I saw them on the AROBTTH tour, little did I know that's as good as they were ever going to get. I made a little profit on the CP ticket and a little loss on the Pink Floyd ticket so it's a wash.
The APF show I sold b/c I booked it while drunk and when actually thinking about it, I don't want to spend my last night in town at an off-strip casino seeing a show until 11p at night when I could be out doing my thing. My Vegas thing. Which is the whole point of being there.
Other than that everything else is set. Have been waffling on the theme of my Vegas playlist this time, think I've just settled on an "all fun" set with some stuff I don't usually do, and with of course the 2 songs that MUST be on the playlist, Animation and Woman On A Train. I've tried to do "songs about Vegas" lists but surprisingly there aren't many very good songs about Vegas out there.
Also realized the US Open will be in it's first 2 rounds while I'm there. The less Fed plays the less I watch the sport, but it should make for good "on in the background in the bar" fodder while I'm there. Giants at the Cubs that weekend, possible NLCS preview. Olympics over by then, thank Jeebus.
So now it's just counting down and working out the string. 3 more weeks of rut then it's off to ultimate rut-buster.
