Xmas Freebies And Foodz.
Going to be in a good place on subsidized flights, stays and eats on the Xmas trip. I'll have, to summarize:
-3 nights comped at Cosmopolitan in a Terrace Studio, all-in for 3 nights only $132.66, would be $651.94 if I had no status, savings of $519.28.
-3 nights at Bellagio in a Resort Tower King room, $20/night, all in $221.09. $820.87 rack rate, saving $599.78. Package includes $50 of Free Play so another $50 of free = $649.78. Only $353.75 total for 6 nights in non-base rooms in 5-star resorts. Pretty tidy.
-Flight in on Alaska, used prior flight credit and $49 flight is free. $10 in taxes and such so call it $40 saved.
-Flight out on Alaska, used accumulated mileage points and paid just $6 taxes, would be $69 otherwise so saved $63.
-$100 gift card to Yard House at the Linq. One of my fave chicken strip/beer hangout spots. Should be able to get 1, maybe 1 1/2 meals out of the hundy. Got for free through my company rewards program, $100 saved.
-$93 resort credit at Cosmopolitan, sure to increase during the course of the trip as the resort is set to be my main coin-in gambling location on the trip. Have a reservation to Scarpetta to soak it up, so that'll be another quality meal paid for with just a tip. At least $93 saved.
-Will have around $60 of Express Comps available when I get to town, plus will have another $50 in Resort Credit through the Mlife package. Ex Comps may, once again, increase in-trip as I play at MGM resorts. Mlife coin-in won't be the focus of the trip but since I'm staying at Bellagio I'll no doubt be throwing in a hundy here and there. Have a reservation on property at Yellowtail on Xmas eve to soak up that value. At least $110 saved.
-Have $100 in usable Restaurant.com credit at Carlos & Charlies, Senor Frog's Hussong's and Slice. Slice is pretty great, if I get down to Mandalay at all I will most likely use that, or maybe Hussong's which is in there too. Other two I've had for a while and may or may not use but they're there if I feel the need. $100 potential savings.
So, grand total of savings if I use all avenues on this trip will work out to $1658.06. That's just nutballs. Can't be arsed to look back at prior freebie posts but this haul must be in the upper echelon of all my trips. The flight and food side this time especially were solid. Aside from the Xmas night Delmonico excursion, I may not need to pay full price for any meal during the trip if I don't want to.
I do love this piece of the Vegas trip - the planning and ferreting out of discounts and such. It's a good feeling to know that all the coin-in and money spent at all these resorts over the years hasn't been completely in vain. I'm not a very frugal guy in general in life but I do love me some Vegas deals.
Still 2+ months out but can almost taste this trip. Roll on Vegas winter and roll on December 20th.
