OK Then. Off We Go.
Whelp, here we are again. For the 40th time in 10 years, I'm hours away from heading off to happy land.
The cash is out of the bank, the laundry is done, the bag is 70% packed. 48 hours from this writing I will be sitting on the tarmac of a plane headed for the Vegas. It's been a strange lead-up to this trip. There's been so much going on in my life here that I've not had much time to think or put much planning into the trip, but of course I have this down to a science now. 40 trips to the same stretch of 4 miles of road will do that for you.
It comes at a good time. I'm established at the new job now and don't feel like I have to worry about proving myself anymore. Money-wise I'm fine, when I come back I should still have something in the range of $8-9K saved, so still a decent cushion and with the raise at work and the ridding of the car it should only keep growing. I'm not scrimping on this trip at all. It's $1K per day full and $500 for the short first night, and I have a nearly bottomless Mlife CC that I intend to mash at MGM joints. Mostly VP but a few hundy in slots and maybe a little video roulette.
Should be fun to check out Cromwell from the rooms, like the casino well enough (though I won't play there) and knocks another "haven't stayed there" resort off my list. Then the 5 nights at Aria will likely be a repeat of the April experience. Not inspiring but nice enough and well located. I can roam a bit more on this trip as I'll have the whole MGM pantheon open to me gaming-wise. Was frankly a little too Cosmo-centric on the last few trips. Love the place but if Identity Rewards will come to nothing there then it's time to move on. I know well enough now when a resort is telling you you're not roller enough to be gambling there.
The Vegas playlist is done and loaded onto the iPad - should be a good fun one. A "summer" themed one this time, appropriately. It's been bitch-ass hot in Vegas the last couple weeks but apparently it's going to cool down to something like 105-110 by the time I get there so, hot, but not enough to melt me. I've done summer trips before, it's fine. Cabs everywhere and casinos are always 70 degrees. Cue Hudson: "Yeah man, but it's a dry heat".
Alright then. Enough of my babbling. Time to hit the proverbial road and I'll see all 1.5 of you when I'm back.
July Vegas is in the chamber.
