The Plan, July 2021.
Less than two weeks to Vegas-ness July. 'Spose it's time to come up with a plan. These posts are starting to become a bit vacant. I find that in most cases now the best plan in Vegas is to not have a plan. But I guess it's a tradition at this point so off we go.
-Wednesday
Fly-in day. Leaving work at 2p, straight to the airport for the flight in on Southwest at 5:45p. Assuming no delay goofiness I'm in town and cabbed over to Cromwell by 8p. Then it's just an ease into things night. I have $500 budgeted for the night so enough to get a meal somewhere, and drinks to get the relax going. Maybe a hundy or two of VP, but nothing over the top on night one. Probably will stick around center strip as it will have been a long day working and getting in so not anticipating much adventurousness.
-Thursday
First full day, probably lounge around the room until check out time and then get at least the bag and hopefully me moved over to Aria as soon as possible. Doing mobile check in so hopefully can get in by 1p or so and get unpacked and settled for the rest of the trip. After that it's get out and roam around. Should have gotten some decent sleep so no restrictions this day. Resorts World first time checkout will def happen this day at some point. Get some gambling going, probably at Aria proper and maybe a little at Cosmo but the focus will be MGM props, now and probably forever. Zero plans for the day or night, may make my way down in the late afternoon to do the Sam Ross run at V/P. Maybe some Fuel in there during the day or late night. All open.
-Friday
Another weekend on the strip begins. I'm a little shell-shocked from the last weekend trip in April, will definitely be planning this one a little better. Day time is normal though, now have more gaming resorts open to me so can make it down south to Mandalay if I want, maybe get lunch at Slice on an R.com discount. NYNY, Park, MGM in play for the day and trip too. I don't have to feel beholden to orbiting the Cosmo anymore gaming-wise. Again no solid plans in place and plenty to do on a fully open and peep'd up strip day. Night time I will be strategerizing my movements, NO strip walking after about 8p. Need to be somewhere I can pretty much post up at. V/P/Mirage area maybe, or possibly the Linq. RW maybe if I love it. We'll see, but not falling into the trap of being in the mass of trash humanity on strip in peak hours. Other than that, though, no plans no restrictions. Eat, drink, drink more and be merry.
-Saturday
Same as above, really. Nothing planned, so can go, do and get Vegas'd. Posting up again somewhere after 8p but otherwise open.
-Sunday
I presumably have survived the weekend intact. Sundays are always a release/relax day on strip, most people are at the pool during the day and a lot of the CA crowd drives or flies out so it mellows, much to my enjoyment. Likely to be a mellow day for me too, lounge around the room, sleep in, get some brekkie somewhere and ease into the day. I will have been going hard for 4 nights by this point so if a nap or a drinking slow down day are needed that's fine. Beer and sippy cocktails instead of Belvie shots and rage. In the evening I have my one and only reservation of the trip to soak up all the resort credit and Ex Comps I have accumulated, it's Lemongrass at Aria for dinner. Thai. Never been, want to switch up from the normal steak rezzies I've traditionally done. Then may head north to hit the Electra/Dorsey run for the last time on the trip, and maybe step into RW again. Should be a good mellow evening as the asshat weekend crowds dissipate.
-Monday
Last day in town. Zero plans. Probably will have a good bankroll built up and can rack up some Mlife points on VP and slots. The where is open, plenty of MGM resorts open to run through, probably will hit up whatever I already haven't. Get a good lunch somewhere to fuel up for the last day push. I'm hopefully playing with a full body deck, though after 4 days 5 nights that may not be the case. Going to listen to my body and see where I'm at physically. An early night is not a sign of defeat. I don't want to be wrecked for the rest of the week. Besides I'm in a nice room at a great resort, no shame in grabbing a pizza and watching some tennis channel to close out proceedings. But if I'm good, I'm out and on it. No early wake up call so if I'm game I'm still in go mode.
-Tuesday
Get up, pack, go home. 12p-ish flight, if any luck home and relaxing by 3p.
Lets. Do. This. 10 days out.
