Post Mortem, April 2022.
So yeah, that happened.
Highlights, I guess, such as they were.
Flights:
No issues. Got to the airport for the in flight plenty early, it was nice having it be on a day off so the lead up could be relaxed and cheap. Just caught the SAMTrans there, had plenty of time to grab a couple glasses of wine then got on the plane more or less on time. Hit the ground, taxi'ed over to MB and was out on the casino floor by 8p. Return flight also fine, on time, no complaints. Upgraded to better seats for both flights. Well done, Alaska.
Food:
Had a couple good meals, got Delmonico on Monday, stellar filet, then the next night did the bison filet at Rivea which was also eye rolling good. That was about it for good meals, the rest was as-I-found-it for the most part. Nothing else memorable. Used up some resort credit one day at the cafe at MB and gift card value another day at Yard House, so it wasn't too costly at least.
Drink:
A lot. many, many "free" drinks sitting at the endless parade of VP machine bars. Did the new S Bar a couple nights at MB, good and personable staff but drinks are expensive and dead vibe. Did Fuel a few times, Dorsey/Electra/Rosina a couple times, not much else really. Didn't venture off the beaten path much drinking-wise. Was pretty wiped out a few nights and had the tireds...to be detailed below.
Resorts:
Again, didn't get off the beaten path much. Spent a lot of time to start and end days at the MB complex for obvious reasons. Cosmo a couple times but not for much time. Bellagio one day. V/P a few times, Encore/Wynn one night. A little Luxor, NYNY, Park. Resorts World one night for about an hour, but it was over run by a convention. Pretty standard - I did make it out to Red Rock finally for about an hour with Evan. Nice place but oh, so locals. Nothing but geezers in there.
Room:
Strip View King at MB. It was fine, I've been in those rooms a bunch now so I knew what to expect. Since I was there so long the only upgrade avail would have been the $150/night extra 2000 sq ft Media Suite, which would have been a waste of space/money. Resort fees did get waived though so that was good. Room was clean/comfy/quiet which is all you can ask for.
Gambling:
I took $6000. I came back with $700. Pretty much says it all. Outside of a couple 4OAKS Vegas was as cold as a witches tit.
Body:
Rough. Had a lot of days that I just couldn't get rolling due to lack of sleep or lack of hydration or lack of simple stamina. I'm just plain flat old and out of shape and not up to 6-day benders. The solution isn't drugs or sleep aids or prayer, it's fucking getting in better shape. We'll see how that works out (munches chocolate chip cookie).
Overall, it was...yeah, I mean, sure. It was good as vacation time but the lack of fun on gambling, lack of stamina and the fact that I didn't really do much new or interesting casts this trip in the "standard" category. It flew by and I enjoyed the time but it was no barn burner. And now we return to the rut and the save up for September. Looking for all the world like just a 4-trip year, this one. Don't think I can afford a quick summer trip unless I crash save for one. We'll see by maybe end of June where the sitch is. Back to City living...
