One week til the Vegas. Here's the plan, limited as it is.

Saturday:
Xmas Eve. If all goes well with the JSX flight, I'll be on the ground by about 10:30 and over to the Grand by 11a. Check in will be handled by the app, but may look at the line to see if I should wait to check on what kind of upgrade I can get. In any case should be able to head up, dump the bag and get on down to the strip by latest 12p. Probably will post up somewhere by about 1p where I can get some victuals and drinkuals and watch the Niners game, at least for a while.

Sat night, no plans, probably will try to make it down to V/P to check on what's left of the old Sam Ross trio crew. Then maybe a late dinner and we'll see how we're feeling, it will have been an early wake up to catch JSX at OAK, so turning in earlyish would not be a punishment.

Sunday:
Xmas day. Up whenever. Wandering probably when out of the room, may check out the new Brew Dog place by MGM, or use some of the inexplicable BWW gift card total to get some free lunch, or both. Then maybe a freshen late afternoon and off to the first reservation of the trip at Craftsteak in the Grand. Get a Xmas steak on then I'm a free agent the rest of the night. No plans no curbs no worries. Gambling a bit no doubt to get over the MGM Gold hump.

Monday/Tuesday:
Completely free both days with no plans. Tuesday will be my "cool down" day, where I will try to under-drink and over-hydrate and eat a lot, so I'm not the walking dead on the last stretch of the trip.

Wednesday:
Hopefully up and feeling fresh with a couple days to go, back into wander mode for the daytime then it's the 2nd of my two actual "plans" for this trip, as at 6p I'm getting my Japanese on at Morimoto in the Grand. This meal should be gratis on MGM points, so ready to do it up and get a top-tier meal for 0 dollars. Gambling-wise this will be the part of the trip I can be a roamer, as I will have no more incentive to keep pumping money into MGM props after reaching Gold. See where the night takes me.

Thursday:
Last day of the trip. The NYE knuckleheads will be coming into town today so will need to be strategic with avoiding them. Could be an "off the beaten path" day staying clear of the hordes. Good thing I know a lot of off the radar spots to hunker down. Nap might not be a bad idea in the afternoon, then it's go out with a bang this night, as I don't have to wake up at all early since it's a late flight out Friday and I have late check out guaranteed. It could be a 'watch the sun come up" night.

Friday:
Sleep in blissfully, fart around the room for a few hours, then be out the door by about 3p for the airport, jump on JSX and hopefully be home by 7:30p to rest up all weekend and count my winnings (yeah). 

A reality dodger, this trip. Putting aside all the work and turmoil likely in early 2023 and blow out 2022 properly with a hell of a Vegas trip. Let's go.

This is going to be a baller-ass vacation. Private planes, 1100 sq ft suites in a 5-star resort, steaks and high-end sashimi. We be living  good  on the 55th birthday trip. It all starts with flying semi-private on JSX in and out. Flown with them a couple times before, SO much less hassle than dealing with the fucking major airports. Private terminal, no TSA, no bag worries, big cushy seats, free drinks. Hopping on in OAK and will just UBER it to and from. So much more evolved than being basically violated by TSA in the normal airports.  Then on arrival in LAS it's in the taxi and over to Resorts World. I have added early check-in to standby, so hopefully I can just roll straight up to the room at 1:30p. It's the One Bedroom Suite at the Conrad, 1100 sq ft of lovely at the north end of the strip. No resort hopping this time, one room, one unpack, one relax.  Trying to think back, pretty sure this will be the biggest room I've ever had in Vegas, I think Encore or Dela...

A decent haul, y'all. -6 nights at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas. $412 all in. Would be $1409 all in with the best website rate. Saved $997 over rack rate. -$30 Freeplay and $50 Resort Credit included in the deal. $80 value. -Roughly $160 in Freeplay from MGM by the time I get to town, $160 value. Total overhead saved = $1237. Not nearly an all timer but not bad for a holiday week trip. Would have been $700 more had I stayed at Fontainebleau as originally planned so a bit of frugality after the baller April trip.  1 month.

Got a nice little Resort Credit bump today, from an old job.  While I was with Kit/Ro in late '22 to early '23 I racked up some Marriot points while I was flirting with the move to Phoenix. Now that Marriot and MGM are bumping uglies, I was able to convert those (otherwise useless) points into MGM Rewards points. It turned into about $190 in credit, which, thanks old job! That means with what I already had earned, I will have over $230 available for the Xmas trip. Hello, Xmas dinner on Marriot, and one other dinner too. That's on top of the $50 I will have from the Aria booking package, and the potential $100 RC bump from getting to Gold on the trip, if I do. 3 nice meals (at least) inbound. We eatin'  good  for Xmas, y'all. The Xmas-freebies post coming up this year will be tidy.
