T Minus One Month.
At long last, a true countdown can start for trip one of 2021.
Has seemed like a long-ass time since Vegas, and for me it has been. By the time I'm wheels down it will have been 4 months. Seems like longer, maybe due to all the pandemic bullshit. Sporadic weekends out, not really doing anything aside from work and home, and the general rut that engenders. It's all so tiresome, and seemingly no real end in sight at least until fall, assuming no surge.
So, I now have something to imminently look forward to again. All the hype can start to build, I can start putting final touches on the plan, and start getting my head into another Vegas trip. Nothing has changed on the trip specifics, it's Southwest for the flights and Aria for the room. Can't think of anything that would change with that at this point. $30/night at a 5-star and less than $90 base fare round trip too good to beat. I did add Early Bird Check In with SW, helps beat the cattle call a bit with boarding. Should be able to get something toward the front of the plane with no overhead compartment issues. With that the trip overhead is settled; flight and rooms for just over $500 for 5 nights, with one of the better standard rooms in Vegas and perfect fly-in, fly-out times.
The money sitch will be easy-peasy, already have more than enough built up with all the income over the last month, 2 more checks to add to that between now and then, and another one mid-trip should it be needed for anything. It won't be. Probably will take $5K cash which should be more than enough. With a more or less normal spend I should come back with $4-5K still in the bank.
Sticking with just the 3 food reservations for the trip, a birthday brekkie, a birthday steak and another good meal mixed in. All may end up being gratis, through points. I may do other incidental meals at Mlife joints or Cosmo as well to maximize the pointage earning. On the gambling tip, banging away at Identity this trip to hopefully upgrade to Gold...I never do anything at Aria win-wise anyway so not a tough choice. I'm going to start putting in 100 hands a day on the VP trainer now too since I'm within a month. Gotts to be sharp to take down some Royals.
So now just need to fart away 4 more weeks at my dead-end job until I can board the plane in exactly one month from today. Let's get this year of Vegasness going.
