Whoa Horsey.
Despite being in a good place financially right now, need to reign in the spending pre-trip.
Have been, as is wise, putting most of my spending on my Mlife CC. Just makes sense, grab up all the points you can with daily spending, then convert those points earned into sweet sweet Ex Comps in Vegas. But lately I've been earning too damn many points, if you pick up what I'm putting down.
Weekends out in the City have become a thing again, I'm able to do most of a normal Saturday out again, though most venues are still outdoor seating. I've become a bit of a tip monster though, doubling or more my tab in gratuity, basically due to wanting to be supportive of the 'tenders and bars and just generally being grateful to be able to go out again. It's causing the CC to get a wee bit overloaded, nothing I can't handle but more than I should be spending pre-trip.
So, from now til I'm back from the trip, I'm an indoor boy on Saturdays. It's only 3 weekends until go time so coming off a full year of no going out it won't be too big an ask. I have Netflix for the month, and baseball season will be starting this week, so I'll have things to keep me occupied in the meantime.
After the April trip I'll have a decent gap again between trips and can start going out again sporadically. I'm in a good place financially right now and don't want to erode that too much. Especially since I'm not assured of being in my current job much longer. Scaling back the spend and getting back to pre-trip frugality like the past 10 years. Not a problem.
